Friend,
This year has been full of change at NYCC! We said goodbye to Jonathan Westin, our Executive Director of 10 years, and started our journey as NYCC’s first co-Directors. Can you help us start off our first full year on the right foot by making a contribution in support of our work?
We’re living through a time of overlapping crises: an ongoing pandemic, the worst inequality and highest levels of homelessness since the Great Depression, a worsening climate crisis and the fabric of our democracy under threat. Meeting this moment requires the kind of nimble organizing that NYCC is known for.
For the past six months, we’ve worked to design intersectional campaigns that target the overlapping issues that impact our communities. After many hours of strategizing with our members, we launched our safe and healthy communities platform.
In 2023, we're fighting for:
Safe, affordable & stable homes and neighborhoods instead of evictions and displacement.
A safe & thriving planet to build our communities on.
Safety from economic exploitation
A social safety net for all people (no matter their immigration status.)
Communities that are safe from violence, police brutality, incarceration & deportations.
Can you show your support for a safer, healthier New York for all by making a contribution in support of our work?
These are dark times, but we’re fighting from a place of hope. We’ve already won a historic fund for excluded workers. We've secured some of the strongest rent regulations in the country. And we've passed the world’s most ambitious city buildings law that will cut NYC’s pollution in half by 2030.
The safe and healthy communities our members deserve are possible. In 2023 our work will bring us all that much closer to realizing them.
But like all things, we can’t do it alone, and we hope we can count on your support! Click here and make your end-of-year contribution.
Best,
Olivia Leirer and Lucas Sanchez
