Dear Friend,

It hasn’t always been easy, but this has been a remarkable year for our fight for a healthy environment and a livable future. Together, we made significant headway in our efforts to protect endangered wildlife, to keep toxics out of our bodies, and to accelerate our transition away from fossil fuels.

The last year shows that our formula works — dogged legal action by Earthjustice paired with persistent activism from supporters like you continues to get the goods. When the previous administration gutted the Endangered Species Act and the Clean Water Act and the current administration didn’t work fast enough to undo the damage, Earthjustice sued, supporters like you rallied, and we made tangible progress towards our goals.

There will always be more work ahead of us, but, for now, enjoy reading through a few of our wins from the last year and the personal stories about these important issues that pushed us to victory.

Secured $369 billion for climate as part of the Inflation Reduction Act
“As a grandfather, I feel strongly that we need your leadership to rebuild our economy, address racial and environmental injustice, and meet the climate crisis head on.”
— Robert M., Florida

Stopped the dirty permitting deal
May the fourth iteration of this deleterious bill be its last. The damage it would do is enormous: for endangered species, communities, our land, air, water, our planet, and environmental protections.
— Deborah K., Virginia

Electrified majority of new mail trucks
“40% is an improvement. But why not make it 100% electric trucks? The fact is, electric is a much cleaner choice, and electric-powered vehicles are the future for that reason.”
— Mimi S., Michigan

Defended the Western Arctic from the Peregrine project
“I live in Alaska. In the long run, we are losing far more than we are gaining by chasing more fossil fuels.”
— Eric T., Alaska

Protected Red Knots’ food supply
“As someone who grew up on the shores of Cape May, this issue is very important to me. We must protect red knot shorebirds by rejecting Addendum VIII to the fishery management plan for horseshoe crabs.”
— Holly E., California

We didn’t score these wins just because the Biden administration took office — they happened because you gave the administration no choice but to implement our agenda. Earthjustice’s relentless work in the courts is essential, but advocates like you provide the public support that compels the administration to act — and that helps us achieve so much more. Thank you for being with us in this fight.
