John,
Last night Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted that she is refusing to pay $250,000 in membership dues to the DCCC in part because of their anti-democratic policy of blacklisting any organization that helps elect Democrat primary candidates.
The DCCC’s decision to blacklist any organization, vendor, or staffer who works to elect progressive primary candidates like AOC, Ayanna Pressley, Jessica Cisneros, Marie Newman, Jamaal Bowman and so many more was a direct response to our movement’s growing power.
When we recruited Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to run for Congress in 2018, the establishment counted us out. But with your support we shocked the entrenched establishment and made history.
Now, we’re fighting to elect eight more progressive, working-class champions in 2020 who will join the Squad in working for policies like the Green New Deal and Medicare for All. But the only way that we will elect another wave of visionary leaders is with your grassroots support.
Thank you for everything! Now let’s keep fighting.
