I don't usually reach out on the weekend, but the news from Puerto Rico today is devastating. Another magnitude 5.9 earthquake hit the island this morning, causing additional damage, power loss and an even more intense sense of fear for families trying to find safety.
, we're counting on compassionate people like you to help children and families facing natural disasters and health emergencies in Puerto Rico and around the world survive and recover. I hope you saw the email from Andrea earlier this week describing the critical conditions we're seeing on the ground. Our teams are continuing their work today. This week, they have already delivered 219 cold storage bags to keep insulin safe and are preparing to provide 2,000 hygiene kits with soap and other supplies to shelters in need. Please make a gift to our Global Health Emergency Fund today to help people in crisis with urgently-needed medicines, training and medical care. Every dollar you give can help secure an additional $5 in donated supplies, volunteers and funding, multiplying your impact 5X. - Rabih |

Dear , The last few days have been terrifying and exhausting for many families in Puerto Rico. A 6.4 magnitude earthquake shook the island early Tuesday morning, destroying buildings and causing two-thirds of the territory to lose power. More than 40 earthquakes with a 3.0-magnitude or higher followed, threatening recovery efforts. Our team is now on the ground near the cities of Ponce and Guanadilla, evaluating how we can help. We've already delivered 120 cold storage bags to keep medications safe to use. Photo credit: Elsy Benitez-Vargas, Project HOPE. What we’re seeing so far:
In gratitude, Andrea Dunne-Sosa Regional Director, Americas P.S. None of us can know when a disaster will strike -- that’s why your support is more important than you may know. When you make a gift now, you ensure that disaster responders, medical volunteers and lifesaving aid can reach communities in need around the world as quickly and efficiently as possible. |
