Making it easier and more affordable for Canadians to switch to zero-emission vehicles//Banning harmful single-use plastics and moving forward with our plan to end plastic waste by 2030.//Greening Canada’s homes and buildings// Helping industries to adopt clean technology and making Canada a leader in the transition to a Net-Zero economy

It was also about making our communities safer by

Banning over 1,500 types of military-style assault weapons and implementing a national ban on handguns//Expanding background checks to keep firearms out of the wrong hands// Supporting organizations that help at-risk young people, and helping communities prevent gun and gang violence by tackling its root causes.

And throughout the year, we’ve continued making life more affordable...

Supporting nearly 1.8 million low-income renters with a $500 top-up to help with the cost of housing.//Banning new foreign ownership of Canadian houses for the next two years to ensure Canadians have more access to purchasing homes.// Delivering dental care for children under 12 by providing $1,300 over two years to families with an income under $90,000.//Welcoming more newcomers to Canada to address labour shortages faster, and to drive economic growth for Canada’s future.// Permanently eliminating interest on federal student and apprenticeship loans to help recent graduates get the best start in their careers and build their futures.
