Friend,
From hiking viewpoints along the Franklin Mountains, locals and visitors alike enjoy the gorgeous view of yellow poppies in bloom. This area, known as Castner Range, is the iconic gem of west Texas—and within its more than 7,000 acres holds lands of significant historical, ecological, and cultural value.
Despite its beauty and historical significance, Castner Range is not protected from long-term development. Take action and urge President Biden to conserve Castner Range as a national monument!
Presidents from both sides of the aisle have used the Antiquities Act to protect America’s most cherished landscapes as national monuments. Many of the public lands that we know and love—such as Zion and Olympic National Parks—were first protected as national monuments!
Designating Castner Range as a national monument will protect the area from future development, safeguarding incredible views and future outdoor recreational opportunities. It will also protect rare and endangered wildlife and prehistoric artifacts for generations to come.
Now is the time to take action. The Biden Administration pledged to protect thirty percent of America’s lands and waters by 2030, and he can help meet this promise by protecting Castner Range.
Help protect this historically significant and stunning landscape now—send your letter to President Biden to designate Castner Range as a national monument today!
Thank you for taking action to protect these beautiful lands in west Texas.
With gratitude,
