Hi, it's Jim Robb, and I've got some good news and I've got some bad news. Which do you want to hear first? Most people want to hear the bad news first, so here goes.

THE BAD NEWS: PRESIDENT BIDEN RUNS AMOK!
President Joe Biden has run perhaps the worst administration EVER on immigration policy. His immigration record has been much MUCH worse than even Barack Obama. That's saying something, because you remember the disorder Obama made of the U.S. Mexico border.
In Pres. Biden's nearly two years in office, about FIVE MILLION illegal aliens have crossed into the U.S. TWO MILLION have managed to get into the United States and have stayed. That's enough people to populate THREE U.S. congressional districts, or more people than live in all of the state of Nebraska! It's about FOUR TIMES the population of the state of Wyoming!
How's Biden managed to do that? He's sent almost every conceivable signal that he WELCOMES ILLEGAL ALIENS into the U.S. Off the top of my head, I can think of 5 huge signals that Biden has sent showing his approval of illegal immigration:
1) Biden's Homeland Security chief, Alejandro Mayorkas, ordered ICE agents NOT to deport illegal aliens who weren't also violent felons. All the others? They have literally nothing to worry about. If they manage to sneak into the U.S. or overstay their visas, NOBODY WILL SEND THEM HOME AS LONG AS PRES. BIDEN IS IN OFFICE! It's a get-out-of-jail-free card.
2) Workplace raids have been stopped cold. Under Pres. Trump and other past presidents, ICE agents would show up at work sites that hired large numbers of illegal aliens and arrest them. Other employers who didn't want that publicity and a potential loss of their entire business would respond by working harder to hire LEGAL workers.
3) Inattention. Has Biden visited the border? No, he says he's working on "more important things." Did he send Vice President Harris down to the border after naming her border czar? Nope! She hasn't gone either. Just last week over 1,000 migrants crossed illegally into El Paso and swamped that city. Even The New York Times put it on the front page. What did Biden do about it? Nothing! What changes has he announced? None!
4) Biden's fighting like crazy in court so he can finally cancel Pres. Trump's pandemic-fighting Title 42 policy. That's where the Border Patrol can deny entry to illegal aliens and turn them back into Mexico in order to prevent the spread of Covid. It had appeared that Pres. Biden had finally gotten court approval to dismantle Title 42 this week. Fortunately, Chief Justice John Roberts Monday afternoon ordered that Title 42 stay in place temporarily while the Supreme Court reviews an emergency motion by 19 states to keep it. Border Patrol agents expect a dramatic new surge in illegal crossings once Title 42 is retired.
5) Biden CANCELLED the many agreements Pres. Trump had negotiated with Mexico and Central American countries to prevent as many would-be illegal aliens from reaching our border and make those who did arrive wait outside the U.S. while their (mostly bogus) asylum claims were processed. The best known of these policies was the "Remain in Mexico" program. Canceling these agreements was one of the first things Biden did once coming into office. And he replaced those agreements with . . . NOTHING!
On top of all the above, Pres. Biden has been working literally from his first day in office to persuade Congress to pass an enormous AMNESTY for illegal aliens and to DOUBLE legal immigration. In 2021, his first year, NumbersUSA was in constant battle mode to keep Biden's allies in Congress from passing his terrible, TERRIBLE immigration bills.
This included CONSTANT efforts to stick major amnesties for illegal aliens onto the Build Back Better and other spending bills that were passed earlier this year ... but this leads me to the Good News.
THE GOOD NEWS: NUMBERSUSA PUSHES BACK... HARD!!!
NumbersUSA and our enormous army of citizen activists have stood up to Pres. Biden's immigration agenda every step of the way . . . and so far, together, we've prevented the president from making any of his policies permanent by STOPPING CONGRESS FROM PASSING THESE TERRIBLE IMMIGRATION CHANGES INTO LAW!
We have five pieces of good news to report.
1) As members of NumbersUSA, you have OPENED 26 MILLION newsletters, information emails, and action alerts from us. Responding to these messages, you have SENT TWO MILLION FAXES AND EMAILS TO CONGRESS since Pres. Biden took office! That's thousands of messages per Senator and Representative. Is Congress hearing from the American people about immigration? You bet! Thanks to you and NumbersUSA, they're constantly fielding messages and phone calls demanding that they bring immigration under better control!
2) The EAGLE Act has been fought to a standstill in Congress. The cheap labor lobby has pushed tirelessly to bring this bill--which would turn temporary work permits into PERMANENT ones--to a vote in the House. But the vote was delayed twice due to pressure from the public (LIKE YOU!) who are concerned that yet more tech jobs will be permanently lost to American workers if The EAGLE Act passes. Also, members of the Congressional Black Caucus believe--correctly--that the bill would result in most future "temporary" tech workers coming from only two countries, China and India. Right now, it appears the bill will die when Congress adjourns without ever receiving a vote. GO, TEAM, GO!!!!!!!

3) ZERO! That's how many illegal alien amnesties Congress has passed since Pres. Joe Biden has been in office! ZERO is also the number of major amnesties that Congress has passed during the entire 21st Century to date! As a member of NumbersUSA, you may be so used to victory on amnesties that you now take it for granted. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE OUR PERFECT RECORD ON STOPPING AMNESTIES FOR GRANTED! If NumbersUSA stopped pressuring Congress even for a month, they'd pass at least one major amnesty. BUT WE NEVER LET UP ON THE PRESSURE!
4) Pres. Biden hasn't gotten any legal immigration hikes, no amnesties, no formal, legal dismantling of enforcement. That's great news, because he's tried constantly to get immigration levels raised and amnesties passed. Unfortunately, the president has managed to starve enforcement of funds by manipulating money bills in Congress. And he's used a ton of sketchy, bending-or-breaking of the rules to just not enforce laws on the books. But his free ride may be ending soon.
5) In January, a new, much more friendly House of Representatives will be assembling on Capitol Hill. We know that their stances on immigration are much better than the outgoing House leadership. To make sure they actually DELIVER on their promises to launch investigations of Biden's immigration catastrophe(s) and pass smart new immigration bills, we'll have to put LOTS of pressure on. That will mean opening up the phone banks and putting our computer systems on overdrive. We'll need your activism next year and your financial donation right now so we can be ready.
No one can put the heat on Congress like NumbersUSA. Our vast membership of citizen activists blanket Congress with messages and phone calls demanding change. And we're right up there on Capitol Hill with our crack team of lobbyists to put even more pressure on Senators and Representatives.
