Roy demands EPA reverse ‘flawed, inaccurate’ decision denying small refineries relief from crony mandate - A recent Government Accountability Office report found EPA based its decision to deny small refineries relief from the renewable fuel standards mandate on flawed, inaccurate, and unverified information and administers the relief exemptions in a wholly arbitrary manner. “This decision imposes an enormous burden on US refineries and will lead to job losses, diminished gasoline and diesel production, and increased costs for refined products,” the Members wrote to EPA. “Put simply, EPA appears to be handing down decisions that have massive implications for the nation’s energy supply in the midst of an unprecedented energy crisis based on the unfounded whims of unelected bureaucrats.”
