There's a third socialist running for the state house - and there's some easy ways you can help her win.

Hey there!

We’ve big news from the northern metro: State Rep. Adrienne Benavidez, of House District 35 (parts of Denver, Thornton and Westminster) just announced her resignation, meaning her seat will be filled in only two weeks by a vacancy committee of local Democrats.

That’s where you come in – DSA member and community organizer Lorena Garcia is stepping up to take her place! We're looking for members who can help spread the word about Lorena and get vacancy committee members on her side!

Ways you can support:

- Calling vacancy committee members in support of Lorena

- Writing letters to the vacancy committee about Lorena’s campaign

- Authoring letters to the editor about Lorena

- Emailing elected officials in support of Lorena

Interested in volunteering to do one of these things? Sign up below! It's quick and easy, but goes a long way.

While we can’t complete our endorsement process on such a short timeline, Lorena was endorsed by Denver DSA in her 2020 run for Senate, where she championed the Green New Deal and a vision of a people’s government. Since then, she’s been a fierce advocate for education equity, working people and socialist values.

If she wins her vacancy election, Lorena will join Elisabeth Epps and Javier Mabrey as DSA state representatives driven by the belief in putting people first.

Every person who signs up to volunteer is KEY to adding a THIRD socialist to the state house. Click that button above!!

P.S. - we’ll be hosting a volunteer training session on December 27th at 6pm! If you’re planning on volunteering and want to meet Lorena, you can register for that here:

Time to make history - again!

In solidarity,
