As we observe the holidays in our own faith traditions, let us pray for a world at peace. Let it begin with us in our hearts and in America. While families come together to celebrate, may joy and comfort be with you.

I am writing with a grateful heart to thank you. Working together this past election, our House Democrats made our own environment with the help of our VIPs — YOU, our Volunteers in Politics; our Very Important People. You are the guardians of Democracy.

Because you believed that we could win, Democrats pushed back the anti-democratic tide of extremism, won the Senate and maintained a strong position in the House.

My House Democratic colleagues put People Over Politics to deliver historic progress for the American people. With the courage of our values, Democrats faced off against Pharma, against the fossil fuel industry, and against the gun lobby — and we won.

With gratitude for your trust, your friendship and your support for courageous House Democrats, for our shared progressive values and for me — thank you from the bottom of my heart. Together, we made history and together we will continue to make progress — For The People.
