In 2022 alone, more than 160 people have been killed by an assault weapon.
John,
We must end the senseless epidemic of gun violence in our country. In 2022 alone, more than 160 people have been killed by an assault weapon and more than 245 have been injured.
That’s why earlier this year, the House passed a bill to ban assault weapons — the first time a bill like this has passed since 1994.
It’s a huge step forward, but we need the Senate to pass this bill before the GOP takes control of the House in January. Are you with Pramila on this, John?
Add your name right now to build support for banning assault weapons. We must show our elected officials, across the political spectrum, that there’s overwhelming support for this gun safety law.

Gun violence recently surpassed car accidents as the leading cause of death for American children. This is unacceptable — and a uniquely American problem.
There is no one single answer to ending gun violence in America, but one step in the right direction includes banning assault weapons. We’ve seen the evidence: When America had an assault weapons ban from 1994-2004, the result was a 37% decrease in gun massacres.
John, the GOP has no interest in getting rid of these horrific weapons. They depend on the NRA to fund their campaigns and have been bought and sold by the gun lobby. So we need to take action before Republicans take control of the House in January.
Will you sign on today in support of the Senate passing a ban on assault weapons? It’s a matter of life and death.
Thank you for signing on today.
In solidarity,
Team Jayapal
