Dear,
The day after the inauguration of President Trump, millions of people all over the world joined the Women's March, the largest single-day protest in U.S. history.(1)
The 2020 Women's March needs to be even bigger.
This is the year that Trump faces reelection. Roe v. Wade is on the chopping block in the Supreme Court. Mitch McConnell and the Republican Senate majority is on the line. And California is on the frontlines of the resistance on everything from climate change to net neutrality to women's reproductive rights.
Courage California has joined as a sponsor of the Women's March. Will you make a donation to help fund our part of the action?
Yes, I'll donate $5 to help support the 2020 Women's March.
When Trump was elected, we rallied with our sisters and brothers in every state across the nation to resist the serial sexual abuser who had ascended to the White House. We were harassed by cops and counter-protestors. Some of us even marched through feet of snow.
But the Women's March wasn't just about Trump. We marched for the 1 in 4 women who is sexually assaulted in her lifetime.(2) We marched for the Black women, who only earn 63 cents, and the Latinx women, who only earn 54 cents to every white man's dollar.(3) Last year, we marched because kids were separated from their families and put in cages. And we marched because Brett Kavanaugh was sent to the Supreme Court to abolish Roe v. Wade.
We've made real progress in the days since the first Women's March. 2018 ushered in a record number of women to Congress.(4) The #MeToo movement is changing how women are treated in the workplace.
Now we finally have the chance to boot Trump out of office, and the Women's March is the first major event of 2020.
We have no time to lose. This year's Women's March must be a clear message to the country: We will say goodbye to Trump and his culture of misogyny in 2020.
Courage California is helping to recruit marchers for the Women's March 2020. Will you chip in to help support our efforts to make the Women's March a success?
Yes, I'll donate $5 to help support the 2020 Women's March.
Yours in the fight for our democracy,
Caitlin, along with Angela, Anne, Brian, Deepthi, Eddie, Gabby, Jay, Lindsay, Mary, Molly, Raquel, Scottie, and Tai (the Courage team)
