I am furious.

Congress wrote Trump (and his predecessors) blank checks for war with the The Authorization for Use of Military Force and most recently with a bloated military budget that includes Trump’s beloved “Space Force.” Democratic leaders cannot give Trump power then complain when he uses it recklessly.

War always hurts the most vulnerable. Our administration acts without regard for the lives it affects through its actions. These acts of war are no exception. That’s one reason I’m running for Congress. Our foreign policy needs to be focused on peace, relationship-building, diplomacy, and leading by example. Unlike my opponent, Carolyn Maloney, I will not vote for any kind of military intervention unless it is to defend ourselves or allies against active military attacks. I will not vote to increase our military budget.

We absolutely need to replace Donald Trump and every complicit member of Congress (regardless of political party affiliation) with representatives who stand for global peace and justice. Support my campaign today and send a clear message to Democratic leadership and Trump. ([link removed])

I proudly signed this petition ([link removed]) from Brand New Congress telling Congress to repeal the AUMF and prevent war with Iran. It also removes the ability for the President to launch preemptive attacks based on lies to the public and Congress, and requires Congressional approval for acts of war.
