The Senate reached a tentative agreement on a $1.7 trillion package to fund the government through Oct. 2023.

The bill includes $772.5 billion for non-defense discretionary programs & $858 billion in defense funding. To avoid a shutdown, lawmakers must debate and pass the 4,155-page measure by Friday.

Amendments to the bill could still be added in the Senate and House.
