With the GOP set to take the majority in the House, we’re getting a taste of what MAGA Republicans, led by Kevin McCarthy, are going to do when in charge of Congress. And it’s not pretty. In a letter he sent to the Jan. 6th Committee earlier this month, Kevin McCarthy indicated one of the first steps in the GOP’s extreme MAGA agenda will be to wage a partisan stunt attacking the committee’s investigation into the assault on our democracy on January 6th.

This is really dangerous, folks. The work this bipartisan effort has done to uncover the truth about the attack on the Capitol on January 6th is of immense importance, and McCarthy’s plan to sow doubt in it and to try to manufacture proof that it was nothing but a political game to attack Trump is an affront to the rule of law and a masterclass in projection. To protect themselves and the face of their party, McCarthy and the MAGA right wing will do anything to attack political rivals, dodge accountability and undermine our democracy. And they need to be stopped.

Now that Democrats are in the minority by a razor-thin margin, we have more work cut out for us to fight back against MAGA Republicans’ destructive stunts. Can you chip in now to help us stand up to McCarthy and defend our democracy?

McCarthy and all his MAGA counterparts are proving again and again that they do not have the interests of everyday Americans at heart—they are only there to serve themselves.
