In case you missed it, Donald Trump’s running a brand new grift: a set of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) -- or digital trading cards, essentially -- sold at nearly $100 apiece.

A day before the release, Trump told his supporters to expect a “major announcement.” But in the end it was just a bunch of hilariously bad NFTs featuring Trump as a caped superhero, NASCAR driver, fighter pilot, cowboy, and even an astronaut. (Notably: not as the president of the United States.) 

As tempted as you may be to spend $100 to personally enrich a twice-impeached one-term president under criminal investigation -- in exchange for some stolen clip art -- let us suggest an alternative.

Now, we’re not hyping this up as a major announcement or anything, but we are sending actual, tangible sticker packs to supporters who donate $15 or more toward our end-of-year campaign. And we’re not just pocketing the money -- every dollar is an investment in the progressive future this movement fights for every day.

Your donation today couldn’t come at a more important time for our democracy. Despite how ridiculous Trump’s NFTs seem, they’ve reportedly sold out. It’s more evidence that he’s still got a dangerous hold on a sizable number of voters heading into the next presidential election. The majority of Americans simply can’t afford for that very loud minority to dictate the future of our country. 

So yes, let's all have a laugh at Trump's astronaut trading cards, but let's not get complacent. We've got a lot of work to do to defeat Trump or whatever MAGA extremist takes his place in 2024. And while a $15 gift secures your sticker pack, please know that by pitching in even more, you’ll be setting us up for these fights ahead.
