Dear John,

WildAid is unique among conservation organizations. We transform people’s relationship to wildlife and their habitats through dynamic consumer focused campaigns and first-class marine protection efforts around the world.

We have pioneered an approach to protecting vital ocean ecosystems that has resulted in game-changing positive impacts for sealife and their habitats worldwide. Well-protected marine habitats can quadruple fish populations in the span of a decade. Thanks to you, WildAid’s efforts have increased the likelihood of survival for 8,500+ species of marine wildlife.

Our work across the Galapagos Islands and coastal Ecuador has provided sanctuary for thousands of species to thrive: sea turtles, whales, dolphins, endangered hammerhead sharks, and the largest remaining population of oceanic manta rays in the world. We were thrilled when leatherback sea turtle nests hatched for the first time in decades in Ecuador, and we saw 20,000 hatchlings make it safely to sea.

Will you renew your donation to WildAid’s conservation efforts this year?

The need for effective marine protection is more urgent than ever. In recent decades 35% of all mangrove forests, 30% of all seagrass beds,1 and 50% of global coral reefs have been destroyed. These are our most precious ocean ecosystems. They sequester 15x more carbon than the Amazon rain forest, and a quarter of all marine species can be found on coral reefs alone.

With decades of experience on the sea, WildAid has developed a proven approach to ocean conservation. We focus on the 60% of Marine Protected Areas worldwide that do not have adequate - or any - enforcement. Marine Protected Areas are the ocean’s parks, established to safeguard sea life from poaching and unsustainable fishing practices (cyanide, dynamite, and worse). WildAid is currently working in 75 sites worldwide, and we aim to triple that to 250 Marine Protected Areas by 2025.

Are you inspired by this audacious goal to protect marine wildlife and vital habitat?

Donate to WildAid today.

We can’t do it without you, and we are grateful for your partnership.

Yours in conservation,
