Hi John,

As this year comes to a close, we are reflecting on the progress we’ve made and wanted to share a few reasons to celebrate. So here are 22 things from 2022 that we’re especially proud of. This year we:

1. Restricted high-capacity magazines with the passage of SB 5078 through the Washington state legislature–a victory six years in the making!
2. Closed the ghost gun loophole, with the passage of HB 1605 through the state legislature.
3. Extended protections against armed intimidation with the passage of HB 1630, which prohibits open carry at public government meetings and restricts firearms at school board meetings and election-related offices.
4. Prohibited live-shooter drills with the passage of HB 1941.
5. Supported a coalition that made critical updates to Washington state’s use of force standards: [link removed]
6. Improved and updated Washington’s civil protection order system, including updating the definition of domestic violence to include coercive control.
7. Advocated for the investment of more than $8 million in the Office of Firearm Safety and Violence Prevention.
8. Helped secure congressionally-directed federal spending for our partner organizations CHOOSE 180 and Peacemaking Institute!
