By now I’m sure you’re aware that 207 anti-choice members of Congress have formally urged the Supreme Court to strike down Roe v. Wade, endangering the health of women across the country.
This is serious business, especially here in Georgia. Last year one of my GOP opponents, Renee Unterman, led the charge to pass Georgia’s abortion ban, putting lives at risk in our state and starting a domino effect for other similar legislation across the country.
Let’s be clear: because of Unterman’s work on one of the most extreme anti-choice bills in the country, women in Georgia — a state with the highest maternal mortality in the nation — could be imprisoned for up to 10 years for terminating a pregnancy.
This law puts lives at risk and kicked off a series of similar bans in state legislatures across the country.
