As winter breaks begin and we count down to the new year, we’ve been reflecting on 2022 and all we'd like to celebrate:
- We welcomed wonderful new additions to our team
- We joined the U.S. Surgeon General’s call to action on youth mental health
- Our Board and staff created an inspiring three-year Strategic Plan (stay tuned: we can’t wait to share it with you at our winter luncheon!)
- We received over $262,000 in gifts to our fall Annual Fund campaign - thank you!
- We saw ripple effects from work we did ages ago with a school that inspired teachers to create the musical, Ranked, whose production is now showcased in the HBO documentary, My So Called High School Rank.
Our team is so grateful to have the opportunity to do this work in service of youth, and we are especially grateful to do it alongside you.
We wish you and your communities a warm, relaxing, and joyful winter break.
The Challenge Success Team

We established the Student Advisory Committee to directly incorporate student voice into shaping our work. This year we have a team of five students from different parts of the country, of different ages, and with different interests meeting with us regularly to share their input, ideas, and wisdom. Read more about the origin story of this committee in our blog post here.
In addition to students playing an active role on Challenge Success school teams, we often see schools implement this model through a student liaison or student group. We encourage you to consult with the young people in your community alongside your school leadership team. Give them opportunities to pilot potential changes, collaborate on problem-solving, and serve as a connection to the broader student body. You’ll be glad you did!
