After NewDem Congressman Donald McEachin (VA-04) passed away late last month, his seat became vacant, and we acted quickly to support someone who could carry on his legacy of expanding affordable health care, tackling climate change, and defending every Americans’ most fundamental freedoms in Congress. With a strong track record and 17 years of experience serving the Richmond area in the Virginia State Senate, Jennifer McClellan is that person. 

Today, we’re celebrating this historic NewDem win! But tomorrow, the fight continues: When the new Congress is sworn in on January 3rd, Republicans will hold a razor-thin majority. We can’t let them pick up a single seat – which means we need to make sure Jennifer keeps VA-04 blue.
