Friend,
As we approach the new year, I've been thinking a lot about how grassroots supporters like you make our work possible.
None of what we do would be possible without your help, so in the spirit of that partnership, I want to share three of the specific tactics we need your help with in 2023.
Then, I'm going to ask you to chip in. You'll see what your gift could fund below—but bottom line, we're doubling down on our 2022 successes and we can't do it without your support.
2023 Goal: Continue meeting with elected officials and policymakers
We have laid the groundwork for a big push on state-level climate action and executive action campaigns in 2023. A crucial part of that work is getting our climate policies in front of the right people by having direct meetings with officials and policymakers in the Biden administration and at the state level.
What we need to accomplish that goal: $$ to keep our policy team leading the climate action conversation
2023 Goal: Make more videos
This year, our best-in-class explainer videos engaged new audiences and inspired viewers to take action by simplifying complex climate topics. A recent example is our Willow Project video, which tallied over 45,000 views and generated over 21,000 petition signatures to President Biden.
What we need to accomplish that goal: $$ to script, produce, and promote more videos
2023 Goal: Continue strategically running ads to the right people at the right times
In 2022, we used targeted ad campaigns to influence decision-makers and voters at critical moments—like when we ran ads in a pivotal Wisconsin district ahead of midterm elections and helped re-elect climate champion Gov. Tony Evers, or when we blanketed D.C. and Brooklyn (Majority Leader Schumer's neighborhood) with ads demanding climate legislation.
What we need to accomplish that goal: $$ to create and deploy ads; must be ready for rapid-response situations
Friend, now that you're caught up, I'm sure you see why we're hoping you'll chip in to help us start 2023 strong.
Your support funds the successful strategies that have made us one of the most effective climate organizations in the country. It's all part of our mission to advance an all-out mobilization to defeat the climate crisis and create millions of jobs in a just, thriving, and inclusive clean energy economy.
So will you chip in right now to invest in our work and ensure that these successes are only the beginning?
Onward,
Jamal Raad
