[1]Cori Bush

Hi John, it’s Mark
Ruffalo.

I was elated when Cori Bush sailed to re-election on November 8th with
over 70% of the vote.

Like so many of you, I was doing whatever I could before the election to
help her succeed. From environmental protections to reproductive freedom —
so much is on the line for our country and Cori is the leader we need in
our progressive movement.

Pundits warned that Republicans would make big gains in Congress and said
a “red wave” was all but certain. To their surprise, Democrats expanded
their Senate majority and the losses in the House were narrowly enough to
switch party control — which means there are legislative battles to be
won.

With that in mind, my priority through the end of the year is to help
ensure impactful leaders like Cori have the resources they need to
continue their work — especially when faced with a conservative majority
and the inevitable disinformation and attack campaigns by far-right media
outlets like Fox News.

[ [link removed] ]Cori's team has set a goal to raise $85,000 by their end-of-year
fundraising deadline, so I'm asking: Will you join me today in supporting
Cori’s campaign with a donation of $5 or more today?

Cori’s life experiences inform the type of leader she is: compassionate
and laser-focused on helping our most vulnerable communities, lifting up
our entire country in the process. Consider some of the landmark pieces of
legislation she’s already sponsored:

* The Green New Deal for Cities: would provide funding to states, local
governments, and Indigenous communities to carry out Green New Deal
projects, including efforts to clean up pollution, climate adaptation
measures, and more.

* The Keeping Renters Safe Act: would authorize the government to place
a moratorium on residential evictions to prevent the spread of
communicable diseases and keep vulnerable renters housed.

* The People’s Response Act: will treat public safety as a matter of
public health by creating a health-centered public safety agency
within the Department of Human Health and Services to prevent violence
and harm.

* The Helping Families Heal Act: is a first-of-its-kind legislation to
fund mental health resources to support those impacted by police
violence.

As a supporter of Cori, you help make legislation like this possible.

Contributions of just $5 ensure Cori doesn't have to worry
about fundraising and can focus on organizing and fighting for progressive
policies in Congress instead. [ [link removed] ]Ahead of the critical end-of-year
fundraising deadline, Cori's counting on our support. Please, chip in
$5 or more to today to help amplify her progressive agenda
and reach her team's must-hit $85,000 fundraising goal.

Thank you,

Mark Ruffalo
