Earlier this month, we reported that the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC)—despite claiming dedication to the principle of free markets—doubled down on its latest strategy of protecting the fossil fuel industry in passing a new model bill out of task forces blacklisting “woke” companies that embrace climate protection goals at its States and Nation Policy Summit. 

And we wrote about Charles Koch's rough year. Despite the billionaire’s huge investments in Americans for Prosperity, his astroturf operation, and its super PAC, AFP Action, Koch scored few electoral gains in the midterms and suffered major legislative defeats in Congress.

IRS filings from Charles Koch's Americans for Prosperity Foundation confirm that the group paid $10 million to the law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP, which litigated Americans for Prosperity Foundation v. Bonta from 2015 through 2021.
