Selling items online is a great way to earn extra cash or clear out your closet or garage this holiday season. Etsy, eBay, Mercari, Tradesy, and Poshmark are some of the websites that people, women especially, use to resell pre-owned items. However, casual online sellers are in for a big surprise from Uncle Sam in 2023. Selling items on these websites and others could trigger new tax reporting requirements instituted by Congress and possibly even a tax bill. Learn More

This is the second year in a row that inflation is robbing American families of a merry Christmas and a jolly holiday season. Parents will spend significantly more on gifts, presents, meals, and traditions this holiday season. Prices on toys are up 5.1%, girls’ clothing is up 5.2%, baby clothes are up about 4%, and prices for balls and sports equipment are 3.3% higher. Denying the reality that children, teens, and even adults change their minds about their identities is not just ignorant. It’s dangerous. It promotes a one-way ticket down the transgender assembly line, where getting off isn’t an option. Either Jessie Pocock, CEO and executive director of Inside Out Youth Services in Colorado Springs, is mind-bogglingly ignorant, or she knowingly lied while speaking under oath. Both conclusions should immediately disqualify her from leading an organization that works with America’s gender-confused youth.

The most recent available numbers from MBO Partners find 64.6 million Americans — or 39% of the U.S. workforce — now partake in some form of independent contracting, whether full-time, part-time, or occasionally. Federal rulemaking should reflect economic trends, not impend or intrude on this burgeoning workforce.
