Team, This week, the House voted to check President Trump's power to commit the United States to an armed conflict without explicit authorization from Congress. I am proud to be an original cosponsor of this War Powers Resolution. It has become plainly clear that President Trump’s airstrike on Qasem Soleimani was ill-conceived and has made us less safe. This reckless move – made without consultation with Congress or support from our allies abroad – has already had chaotic consequences. And Trump’s erratic behavior in the aftermath of the attack raises real questions about whether the administration knows what they are doing and if they have a roadmap forward through this conflict. Nothing short of a grassroots uprising will break through the noise of the Washington establishment here, folks. Can you add your name to this petition to send a loud and clear message that the American people do not want another endless war in the Middle East? The President was just impeached – and one of his first moves in the new year was a de-facto act of war against Iran. In fact, President Trump said his decision to launch the drone strike that killed Soleimani came amid pressure from Senate Republicans he needs on his side in the impeachment trial. Our national security policy should not be at the whim of Donald Trump’s personal insecurities. Sign your name to demand an end to any escalation, and get us off the path to war! Thank you, -- David
