Too often we ask ourselves how we can ensure politicians will stand with union members to raise wages, expand healthcare, ensure workers have a strong voice on the job through collective bargaining, and other important actions to improve the lives of California's workers.
Besides the election season we just concluded in November, union members can take action in the decision-making process of the California Democratic Party by making sure our voices are heard there too. Labor's involvement in the Democratic Party ensures union members will be top of mind for the politicians that run and are elected as Democrats.
Here's how you can help: Register to votefor the upcoming "ADEM" delegate elections before Dec. 31 so that you can decide who the decision-makers are at the California Democratic Party in the next election cycle when elections are held next month.
Any voter in California who is registered as a Democrat can register here to receive a mail ballotin January that can be used to elect the delegates who will be making decisions about which candidates for Congress, Legislature, and U.S. Senate should be endorsed by the Democratic Party. Here's how to do it and what to expect:
Once you register, save the email you receive from "CADEM" (actual email address is [email protected]) titled "ADEM: Registration Details" because it will include a PIN that you will need to enter on the mail ballot when they receive it in January for it to count.
The Party is sending out all mail ballots on January 6, 2023 to those Democratic voters who register by the 12/31 deadline.
The State Fed, Central Labor Councils, and Unions may be making recommendations in your district, so keep an eye out in January for an email with those recommendations.
Thank you for participating to ensure union members have allies at the Democratic Party.
