Folks — We came into this year with election forecasters predicting that Mitch McConnell would take back the Senate — and we ended it by growing the Democratic majority. It’s been decades since Democrats with a sitting president gained power in the Senate during the midterms. It goes to show that we can buck even the toughest odds when we come together and fight to put people and our planet first. But we can’t afford to slow down now. Democrats will need to defend 23 of the 33 Senate seats up for re-election in 2024 — including mine in New Mexico — and the presidency. We won this year because we built a strong foundation early on. Now, we need to start again and bring in the resources necessary to win the next election.
