Honestly I Don't Know If I'm Wearing This Holiday Sweater Ironically
[[link removed]]
Today, Sarah Aswell is meditating on the way the holidays change once you’re a
mom, via two very different Christmas sweaters.

“There’s a picture of me from my graduate school days — way back in 2004 — where
I’m wearing a Elmo-themed holiday sweater from a second-hand store with the
sleeves torn off and drinking a PBR tallboy in front of my Christmas tree. The
Christmas tree is decorated solely with empty PBR tallboys. I am smiling,” she
writes.

Her Christmas vibe is a bit different these days, to the extent she’s not even
sure how she feels anymore. Maybe you can relate.

This Holiday Season, We’re Thankful for Eggs
[[link removed]]
Thanksgiving might be in the rearview mirror, but that doesn’t mean it’s too
late to practice gratitude — especially for the small-but-mighty things that
make parenting just a little bit easier. Along with mainstream grocery delivery
and to-go coffees, we are thankful for eggs. The high-quality protein and key
nutrients found in eggs support growing brains and bodies, and the American
Heart Association says eggs can be part of a heart-healthy diet for healthy
adults. Give these recipes a try and you too will feel thankful that a
heart-healthy food can also be this versatile and delicious.

I’m Carrying A Rainbow Baby, And It’s An Emotional Minefield
[[link removed]]
“Just eight days post-ovulation with what would potentially be my fifth baby,
sixth pregnancy, I started peeing on sticks. ALL the sticks,” writes Alex Frost
today. It was for a very specific reason: “Even though I’d successfully carried
a rainbow baby
[[link removed]],
now my fourth son, the same feelings of uncertainty and anxiety were back, and I
didn’t even know if I was pregnant or not yet. I was officially a POAS addict,
which stands for Pee on a Stick Addict, a term the infertility mamas throw
around online.” What follows is a really thoughtful piece about the experience
of carrying a rainbow baby, and all the emotional complexities it brings. Give
it a read.
