In the past we relied on Facebook to communicate, but we realized many residents weren?t receiving our communications. This platform of sending you an email is a low cost way of letting you know about your Clerk?s office.

Protect Your Real Estate With Macomb County Clerk's Free Fraud Guard Alerts
The Macomb County Clerk's Office now offers a simple way to be alerted of possible property fraud.
"Fraud Guard Alerts," a free service available on the County Clerk's web site will notify you via email when a document is recorded with your name. This gives you early warning of property fraud being committed in your name.
Simply visit the "Fraud Guard Alerts" web page and sign up using your email address. Then enter your name and add any name that may appear on your real estate documents.
You will then receive email notifications where you can verify any recorded documents are for your property. Please note, you may receive notifications for recordings with a similar name.

It?s Never Been Easier to Visit the Clerk?s Office
It?s never been easier to obtain Clerk?s Office services remotely or visit the Clerk?s Office building for in-person service.
The Clerk?s Office website features easy access to Macomb County land records, death records index, business records index and court records. The website also features a robust self-service lineup, including ability to purchase County death records, marriage records, birth records and court records remotely. There are also convenient online applications systems, including an easy marriage application, notary public application and business application.
For those who prefer in-person services, wait times for Clerk?s Office services in all buildings are down significantly. According to Macomb County Clerk Anthony G. Forlini, ?Our visitors usually get in and out in about 10 minutes. You don?t need an appointment, but our new appointment system for Register of Deeds, Vital Records and CPL Application spreads out our visitors and also keeps wait times down. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff are waiting to serve you!?

Court Section and Jury Room -- If you are selected for Jury Service and you are 70 years of age or older, you are eligible to opt out of Jury Service. Simply call the Jury Room at 586-469-5158.

Elections --?Annual Campaign Finance Statements are due on Tuesday, Jan. 31st by 5 p.m. for all committee types. Visit our website: macombgov.org/elections for more detailed information.

Register of Deeds --?Real estate record searches online are free through our website. Searches can be conducted by name, document type with date range, document #, liber/page, and Parcel ID # (if cited on document). When you purchase a document copy online, it will come up on your computer screen. You can print and/or download to your computer.

Vital Records --?If you are about to start a business in the new year, or you have an existing business, Macomb County offers a free service to help answer questions and provide forms and guidance.? Visit The Small Business Development Center at this link: michigansbdc.org
