John, did you see this?
“Duke Energy and its employees spend millions of dollars every year on lobbying, campaign contributions and other forms of political activity.”
via The News & Observer
One of the biggest problems facing Democrats in North Carolina is campaign finance.
We saw it during my campaign where Super PACs funded by oil and gas billionaires funneled millions against me because they were threatened by a young Muslim woman.
If we want accountable elected officials, we must get money out of politics and throw our support behind candidates who will refuse contributions from corporate PACs like Duke Energy.
That’s why I started the Brighter Future PAC, to give local progressive candidates in the South the support of a grassroots PAC powered by small dollar donors and not dark money.
It’s critical that we keep oil and gas corporate interests out of politics and instead throw our resources behind progressives candidates across the South who will fight for transformational change and protect our basic fundamental rights. But we need your help to fight the good fight. Can you chip in $27 in this game-changing moment? >>
John, I can’t overstate how important your support is.
I was so grateful to have the mass support of the grassroots community who rallied behind my congressional campaign because they believed in our message of progress and building a brighter future.
Now we have a chance to throw our grassroots support behind the local progressive candidates and show the super PACs that their dirty oil and gas money won’t prevail.
It’s time for the South to see a progressive wave up and down the ballot and the wave starts with grassroots support from people like you. Chip in $27 to be a part of this momentous movement! >>
Thank you,
Nida Allam
