Over 600 PIF Active Members!
Dear John,
This week we’re bringing you updates to the public charge rule and our thanks and congratulations on reaching a legislative milestone.
Additionally, starting in January we will all begin using [email protected] addresses. For example, Cheasty’s new email address is [email protected] [[email protected]] . If you have any questions about this transition, please email us at [email protected] [[email protected]] . We’ll also be closed from December 23rd to January 3rd. See you in the new year!
Update: Friday - The Biden Public Charge Regulation Takes Effect
Just a reminder that the Biden public charge regulation will take effect this Friday, December 23. Green card applications received on or after that date will be processed under the new policy. Check out PIF member resources for families [[link removed]] and advocates [[link removed]] for information about the new policy. And stay tuned for our updated partner toolkit, which is coming in January.
Update: You did it! 100 Cosponsors!
The LIFT the BAR Act (H.R.5227/S.4311) got its 100th House cosponsor [[link removed]] this week. Congratulations on this milestone accomplishment! As you know, the LIFT the BAR Act restores access to programs like Medicaid, CHIP, and SNAP, by removing the five-year bar and other barriers that deny critical care and aid to people who are lawfully present. The more support, the better. So keep educating your Members of Congress and encouraging them to be cosponsors. Interested in our LIFT the BAR Act toolkit?
