I’ve had the pleasure of serving with Nancy Pelosi since I got into Congress, and I have seen firsthand her ability to unify and get things done even when faced with GOP attacks. I’ve had the pleasure of serving with Nancy Pelosi since I got into Congress, and I have seen firsthand her ability to unify and get things done even when faced with GOP attacks. She’s been more than that to me, though. She’s also a mentor and friend.

She fought back against the Bush administration and led the charge to help Democrats win back the House in 2006, ending 12 years of Republican control and leading to her becoming the first woman to be elected Speaker.

As Speaker, she continued to secure victories for Democrats in 2008, winning an astounding 257 seats, supporting the election of President Barack Obama, and securing the historic passage of the Affordable Care Act in 2010.

During the Trump administration, Nancy Pelosi stood in the breach, defending our democracy and holding the president accountable, then helped Democrats win back the House in 2018, then the White House and Senate in 2020. The last two years have been some of the most productive in the history of Congress, thanks to her leadership, and with no margin to spare.

She hasn’t slowed down, and this week, President Biden signed our legislation to protect same-sex and interracial marriage into federal law with the Respect for Marriage Act.

We owe Speaker Nancy Pelosi an enormous debt of gratitude; she has been steadfast to the Constitution and the American people, and steps down from House leadership with a record of accomplishment that will create lasting benefits for the American people.

So please, join me in thanking Speaker Pelosi by signing our thank you card to show your appreciation for her decades of service to our country.
