Sign the petition now to demand Kevin McCarthy expel Representative Majorie Taylor Greene from Congress.
There is no place in Congress for Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who most recently argued that if the January 6 insurrection was under her leadership, it would have been armed and successful.1
She has made an outrageous comment comparing the mask mandate in the U.S. House to the Nazi extermination of Jewish people during the Holocaust.2 We cannot accept a Congressperson who is blatantly racist, Islamophobic, and anti-Semitic. To make matters worse, Greene has spread conspiracy theories and launched attacks against survivors of gun violence. There is no place in any workplace, much less the halls of Congress, for those who harass, intimidate, and spew hate at their colleagues.
Kevin McCarthy and the GOP's silence in the face of Greene's unconscionable conduct isn't just a bad look—it puts other lawmakers in danger. Sign to demand that she’s expelled.
Her recent comments glorifying the violent attack on our country on January 6, 2021, suggesting that she would have overthrown the government with an armed insurrection, is indefensible. Her previous threats against Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made AOC worry about her own physical safety and hire more security, and Rep. Jimmy Gomez, who introduced the resolution to expel Greene, has received death threats from Greene’s supporters.
Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is failing in his duty to admonish Greene for her appalling words and deeds. He was required to remove her GOP committee assignments, but following the 2022 election, he's making deals with her and appears ready to reward her inexcusable behavior in order to build his own power. Meanwhile, McCarthy ousted Rep. Liz Cheney from House GOP leadership for speaking out against Trump’s Big Lie that the election was stolen. This proves that Marjorie Taylor Greene is not the exception in the Republican party. She is emblematic of today’s GOP.
Workplace safety is a rising concern across America. Hate can be lethal. There should be no tolerance for anyone who threatens their colleagues. This goes for Congress too—if not moreso, since members of Congress are supposed to be national leaders. Add your name to call for Greene’s expulsion and support the safety of our lawmakers.
