John,
My name is Catherine. Today, I am the Program Officer for Immigrant Rights & Inclusion at the Y & H Soda Foundation, but when I first connected with Immigrants Rising (then E4FC) in 2009, I was an undocumented college student searching for scholarships that didn’t require a social security number; a rare and valuable resource at the time.

Immigrants Rising totally changed my life. If I hadn’t gotten a scholarship, I wouldn't have been able to graduate or meet other undocumented people who made me feel understood, affirmed, and inspired. Back then I had a lot of shame, but Immigrants Rising pushed me to dream that I had a role to play in changing my condition, and gave me a community to support me in doing just that.
As a former program participant who has had a career in philanthropy for over 10 years, I am proud to donate to Immigrants Rising because I know both personally and professionally what a profound impact their programs have.
Join Catherine in supporting every person’s right to thrive regardless of their status.
2023 is just around the corner. In the year ahead, I look forward to supporting Immigrants Rising and other immigrant-serving organizations, making sure that they have the resources to grow. It’s not an easy time, but I’m hopeful that we can put our minds together and create great solutions. I know how much power there is in collective action.
