It's Jane Fonda. I'm writing to you today about the future of our planet.
Scientists say that time is running out to break away from fossil fuels like oil, gas, and coal before the worst effects of the climate crisis become irreversible.
So it is our job to do everything we can to end the era of fossil fuels. That means breaking the stranglehold that fossil fuel companies have on our government. That means leading the way in helping communities own their renewable energy futures.
And it means campaigning and organizing for what we want our world to look like when oil, gas, and coal are things of the past.
That is why I'm asking if you can join me in making your first donation to 350.org before the new year.
It's not too late for us to avoid the worst of the effects of climate change. But it will take doing everything we can to curb the influence of the fossil fuel industry.
For too long, oil, gas, and coal companies have had too much power in our country. The one thing that will stop them is the strength of people power.
When enough people stand together and demand a future free of fossil fuels — when we all do everything we can to demand a future where we prioritize our planet instead of profits — we can win.
We must campaign to end fossil fuels, and we must help communities transition to renewable energy. And I know if you want to join me in these goals, making a contribution to 350.org is the exact path forward.
