Friend, 2020 is here -- and in just weeks, Americans will begin casting their ballots in the Democratic primary, and within the year, we’ll have a big choice to make about the direction of our nation and the future of LGBTQ acceptance. In 2019, when LGBTQ issues were being ignored on the debate stage, GLAAD stepped in to co-organize a presidential forum dedicated exclusively to the issues and policies that affect LGBTQ people. But we are not stopping there. GLAAD is going to have a tremendous impact on the election this year, from monitoring the media and the way it covers LGBTQ people and issues to publicizing the more than 130 attacks the Trump Administration has levied against the LGBTQ community. And let’s not forget -- down-ballot elections this year will determine everything from U.S. senators who will vote on U.S. Supreme Court justices who could decide the fate of marriage equality to state legislators who could vote on bigoted bills designed to strip away LGBTQ acceptance across the country.
