John,

There aren’t a lot of people in Congress like me. Justice Democrats wants
to change that.

When I won in 2020, I became the first Black woman to ever represent
Missouri in Congress. I’m a single mother, nurse, and pastor. I’m a
survivor and an activist. JD is fighting for a Congress where I’m not the
exception.

AOC, Jamaal Bowman, and I bring our real-life experiences to the table in
Congress just like we did when Justice Democrats recruited us to run for
office. That’s what they’re looking for now — leaders who are already
fighting for their communities and ready to take the next step.

JD needs our help to raise the funds it’ll take to recruit their next
slate of bold, working-class, progressive leaders who will fight alongside
me in Congress.

$5 donation today to help them reach their $120,000 goal?

I never expected to go into politics. It didn’t seem like there was room
for someone like me. But after the Ferguson Uprising in 2014 when we took
to the streets for over 400 days for Michael Brown, I knew something
needed to change.

My community encouraged me to run for office, but I didn’t know where to
start. Justice Democrats recruited me in 2017 and endorsed me again in
2020 — helping us overcome the odds during a pandemic, and with an entire
political machine against us. With JD’s help, we made history.

There are people already out there on the ground, fighting for change,
just like I was, or Summer Lee, or Rashida Tlaib, or Ayanna Pressley.
[ [link removed] ]The Candidate Recruitment Fund will make sure JD has the resources
they need to find and recruit those leaders. Will you chip in to support
their $120,000 goal?

Justice Democrats saw my heart and understood the movement we could build
in St. Louis. Now, they’re starting the search for the next slate of
candidates who they’ll empower to mobilize their communities, take on the
establishment, and win.

I know that JD will work tirelessly to find and recruit new bold, diverse
progressive leaders, but I also know that it takes a lot of money to do
work on that scale.

[ [link removed] ]Your donation can make all the difference to Justice Democrats right
now — and it’s an investment in the strength of our movement. Will you
split a contribution of $5 or more to the Candidate
Recruitment Fund and my campaign?

Always in solidarity,

Cori
