Hi there,
Around this time every year, I take a moment to reflect on all that was accomplished in the past year — and to set some goals for the new year.
2022 was a whirlwind year, full of big wins and some tough losses. Although we held onto the Democratic Senate majority and protected marriage equality with my bill, the Respect for Marriage Act, we also faced unprecedented challenges — including the overturning of Roe v. Wade, setting our country back in time on women’s rights and reproductive freedom.
Make no mistake, we have our work cut out for us in 2023 and with the House majority in Republicans' hands, the fights ahead won’t be easy. But I’m no stranger to a tough fight, and I won’t give up on our work to make progress for working families everywhere. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get back to work, but first I want to ask:
What issue areas are most important to you and your family in the new year? I want to know what I should prioritize for 2023, and any input you’re willing to share is incredibly valuable to me.
Hearing from you on what matters most will help my team and I set our goals for the new year because nothing is more important to me than taking on the fights that matter to you.
From restoring reproductive rights to protecting healthcare access, from fighting climate change to taking action on gun safety, I’m going to do everything I can to deliver tangible change for Wisconsinites and the American people. But I want to make sure I’m addressing the issues most important to you.
Folks, can you spare a minute (or two!) to complete my 2023 Priorities Survey? Your input ensures I’m putting all of my energy towards your most pressing issues as we enter the new year.
Thank you for everything you do — whether it’s filling out our monthly survey or simply reading this email. I’m so grateful you’re a part of my team.
