** Small but Mighty: Support FAIR’s Work
------------------------------------------------------------

============================================================

Dear FAIR Friend,

This year, we’ve set a goal to raise $70,000 by January 1. Our year-end appeal is the biggest fundraiser we have all year, and it is crucial in ensuring our ability to keep doing this necessary work. We’ve raised about $35,000 so far.

We also want to see conversations about media control receive more attention from the left, and that’s what we’ve been working on for 36 years. We’re so proud of the community of listeners and readers like you who allow us to do the work that is so desperately needed. And we’re grateful that despite our small size, our small but mighty organization stands out to those familiar with our work.

“Even though the media are incredibly important in shaping people’s view of the world, there has been remarkably little attention to the issue from most liberals or progressives,” said Center for Economic Policy Research’s Dean Baker in an article for the independent news site CounterPunch. He noted FAIR as an example of a progressive outlet that does shed light.

When you donate, you are playing an active role in keeping FAIR free from paywalls, ads and corporate money. You make sure we can not only sustain, but expand the work we do. The more we raise, the more topics we can cover, writers we can work with and platforms we can get our message out on.

This year, we’re offering two thank-you gifts for donations of $50 and more.

The first is FAIR’s special edition 35th anniversary T-shirt, featuring a monopoly-busting design by Kim Balthazar-Fetsko that appeared on the October 2011 issue of Extra!. Shirts are union-made in the US.

The other is a tote bag, US-made from eco-friendly material by a licensee/affiliate with the Fair Labor Association.

Thanks for supporting FAIR this year, and for being part of this vibrant community of media activists.
