Before I go any further, I want to acknowledge that I know you’ve gotten a
lot of requests to donate this year.
For starters, we just won a 6-year term to the U.S. Senate, and that term
hasn’t even begun yet. I know most folks will spend the next few weeks
regrouping and recharging for the fight ahead, and I plan to do a little
of that as well.
But there’s a saying I’m fond of: Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready.
These fights over our democracy did not stop once the midterms ended — the
next few years in Congress will be one fight after another. And given how
the GOP underperformed expectations this year, you can guarantee that
they’re eager to turn the tide now that they’ll have a slim majority in
the House.
I know that the holidays are a time to spend with family, not checking
your email. So I’m asking you to make a donation ahead of our end-of-year
FEC deadline now so you won’t hear from me much in the days ahead.
I believe it’s important to keep the lights on and keep this team
together, ready for whatever comes next — whether it’s a legislative
battle in Congress or local elections across Vermont. The truth is we
didn’t build this campaign simply to win my race — we built it to deliver
