Redistricting
Redistricting is the process of enacting new congressional and state legislative district boundaries, through which lines are redrawn every 10 years following completion of the United States census. It is often a closely contested issue due to perceived partisan influence in the process. Proponents of redistricting reform maintain that political insiders and incumbents draw the district lines for their benefit at the expense of fair representation.
