Hi John,
In less than a month, Boris Johnson will take Britain out of the EU and be free to strike a trade deal with Trump. This is a big threat to our existing standards meant to protect people like you and me - such as our public services, food standards and workers’ rights – which could either be deregulated or completely slashed. And at a critical time when deadly bushfires are ravaging Australia, this deal could also block any action on the climate crisis.

But it’s not over yet – we can still stop the toxic US-UK deal – but we’re going to need your help.

Just after the election, we wrote to you about Boris Johnson’s plans to agree a toxic deal with Trump within a matter of months. I’m really pleased about the amazing response from people across the country wanting to be part of this campaign.
But it’s no secret that it’s going to take an enormous effort to stop this trade deal. We’re going to need thousands more people on board this campaign. That’s why I’m writing to you again to ask if you’d consider donating

In the coming weeks we’ll roll out our Trump in Your Trolley campaign, targeting shoppers around the country over food standards, launch a UK-wide series of public events on the dangers of this trade deal and step up our efforts to build the kind of broad-based alliance that stopped TTIP, the EU-US trade deal, four years ago.

The support from people around the country allowed us to bring to light leaked trade documents in December, proving not only that this new trade deal would pose a serious threat to our NHS, food standards and block any attempt to take action on the climate emergency. It could also reinforce inequality around the world.

We don’t have a lot of time left to stop this deal, but we have enough if we all come together now.

It’s truly inspiring to see tens of thousands of people getting ready to oppose this toxic trade deal, and I want to make sure we succeed. That’s why I hope you’ll consider donating to the campaign today.

Good wishes for the year ahead
