Make it easier for your supporters to correct failing payments

 

We’ve updated Self-Service pages to display an alert when a recurring commitment fails, along with an Update link for a supporter to correct their payment quickly and easily. 

 

Corrections will result in an immediate charge for the failed installment, and your supporters will receive an email confirmation and receipt soon after. Future installments will process on their regularly scheduled dates.

Provide a seamless payment correction experience via Triggered Email

 

You can now add a Smart Link in a Recurring Commitment Triggered Email to make it easier for your supporters to correct a failing payment. 

 

The Update Payment link will send your supporter directly to a correction window, where they can update their payment details without having to locate and edit the commitment itself.

Send messages according to your supporters' time zones

 

You can now schedule texts in Mobile Messaging to send at a specific time in each time zone your supporters are in. The time zone for each supporter is determined by the zip code of the primary address on record, or by the area code of the primary phone number if zip code isn’t available.

 

You must schedule your messages at least 24 hours in advance in order to use this feature.

Important Reminders

 

NGP VAN is closed on December 23rd, December 26th and January 2nd but we will be actively monitoring database activity and any attempts to contact us on those days in case of an emergency.

 

We are also expanding our weeknight coverage the week after Christmas: 9:00 AM to midnight Eastern, December 27th - 30th and available the final weekend of the year, December 31st - January 1st to assist with mission-critical tickets.

 

The next round of routine server maintenance will occur on January 21st - 23rd between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM Eastern. You may experience approximately 10 to 15 minutes of degraded system performance during this period. While the interruption is typically limited to a quarter of an hour, we may need up to a full hour to account for contingencies.
