John—
This year has held both soaring highs and heartbreaking lows for the gun violence prevention movement.
We worked to pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the first gun safety bill signed into law in nearly 30 years. This bill, which funds community violence intervention strategies and helps protect victims of domestic abuse, is a meaningful step in the right direction—but the fight for gun safety is far from over.
We need your support to hit the ground running next year. Can you make a donation to help us maintain our momentum?
Our attorneys fought the gun lobby on countless extreme measures in courts and state legislatures across the country this year, chalking up victories for gun safety. But in June, a conservative supermajority on the Supreme Court ruled in favor of a constitutional right to carry a handgun outside the home for self-defense. This dangerous, ahistorical ruling empowered state lawmakers to invalidate longstanding gun safety laws, putting countless Americans at risk.

Through these highs and lows, and every day in between, I look to our leader, Gabby Giffords. She persists in this fight for a safer future despite the challenging recovery journey she’s been on for the past 12 years. She inspires me each and every day to keep moving ahead.
You also inspire me and bring me hope. Without your generosity, we wouldn’t be able to achieve the lifesaving progress we’ve made.
If you can, please consider supporting our work before the end of the year.
