In about two weeks, Congress will be back in session, and my work fighting for the people of Illinois’ 17th District will officially begin. 

I’m excited to get started, but we have one VERY important task ahead of us first. Just four days before my swearing-in will mark my first public FEC fundraising deadline as your Congressman-elect.

After this deadline hits, our quarterly fundraising numbers will go public. It’s so important that we kick off the new year showing strength, momentum, and grassroots support. Illinois’ 17th will still be one of the most competitive districts in the country, and early resources will be critical to protecting our progress and keeping this seat blue.

So I need to ask:

With less than ten days until our FEC deadline, will you help us kick off the new year with strength? We set a goal of raising $100,000 from online contributions, and your $5 will go a long way in helping us meet this mark.

This year, your support helped me defeat a well-funded and dark money-supported Republican in Esther Joy King. That victory was due to the robust voter communication and get-out-the-vote programs we were able to run. And accomplishing that was only possible with grassroots donations.

You put me here, team. Over the next two years, I’ll do everything I can to advocate on this district’s behalf. But in a toss-up district like ours, it’d be negligent not to begin preparing to defend this seat right away. That’s where your early support comes in.
