Folks, I wanted to reach out and wish a Happy Hanukkah from my family to all of those who celebrate.

Hanukkah is all about reflecting on what brings light and joy into your life. For me, this is my kids, family, friends, and you. I’m thankful each and every day that I have a support system to keep me strong when times become tough. It’s my hope that you’re able to also celebrate with and confide in your loved ones this holiday season.

I’d like to also take this moment to recognize the Jewish community in my district and across the country. In recent years, we’ve seen an uptick in antisemitic hate crimes – this is unacceptable. These sort of attacks deserve our highest condemnation and we must work together to call out hatred wherever it hides.

Today especially, I’m thankful for the invaluable role that the Jewish community plays in our district. During this Hanukkah season, we’re a better people thanks to them.
