Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08) will be the new leader of the House Democratic Caucus – the first Black congressional party leader and our future speaker of the House!

My brothers and I are so excited to see a fresh slate of young leaders that reflects the diversity of the American public, including Rep. Katherine Clark as the new party whip and Rep. Pete Aguilar as the caucus chairman.

This is a HUGE win – not just for Rep. Jeffries or the Democratic Party, but for American democracy itself.
