We have to take care of our teachers in order to take care of our kids. Teachers do some of the most important jobs in the country — but far too often, they are underpaid and undervalued for it.
Even worse, we're facing a severe teacher shortage. We should make becoming a teacher a viable option for millions more people, so we can not only support the teachers we've got, but also invest in the next generation of educators. That's why the American Teacher Act will be so transformative.
