After what has seemed like an eternity, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has finally agreed to hand over the articles of impeachment to the Senate.
According to Breitbart News, reporters learned about Pelosi's intentions after discovering a letter written by her to fellow Democrats.
“I have asked Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler to be prepared to bring to the Floor next week a resolution to appoint managers and transmit articles of impeachment to the Senate,” Pelosi's letter read. “I will be consulting with you at our Tuesday House Democratic Caucus meeting.”
This moves comes as surprise since Pelosi and the rest of the Democrats have agressively been trying to force McConnell to play by their rules in the Senate. Thankfully, he has not budged.
Fox News reports that after McConnell learned about Pelosi's latest plan, McConnell said, “About time.”
However, Pelosi still had to be herself and resorted to her old B.S. in the letter, writing, “In an impeachment trial, every Senator takes an oath to ‘do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws.’ Every Senator now faces a choice: to be loyal to the President or to the Constitution,” she said. “No one is above the law, not even the President.”
